Casa di Elisa is an excellent starting point for a visit to places of historical and cultural interest in the nearby area.

 

Gardone Riviera, just 5 minutes away by car, is home to  Il Vittoriale degli Italiani, the last dwelling(residence) of Gabriele D’Annunzio; an evocative journey through the outdoor gardens, cars, planes and ships used in the various enterprises of the poet, as well as the house full of history and memorabilia.

 

Also worth visiting are the Andrè Heller’s Botanical Garden featuring botanical species from all over the world as well as contemporary works of art, and the Divine Infant Museum, in which the collection of fine, antique Child Jesus statues is its guiding thread.

 

At a close distance is Salò with the MuSa (Salò Museum) which through installations and art collections describes the contribution of the City and the entire Garda territory to the national history

 

To the north, in the town of Toscolano-Maderno, the Paper Museum traces the history of the old paper industry based in the 'Valle delle Cartiere', a fascinating area where you can enjoy the combination of nature and remains of ancient paper mills.

 

From the ports of the different towns it is possible to take short cruises on the lake.

 

There are also several cities of art nearby such as Verona, Brescia, Mantua, Cremona, Milan and Venice, all rich in history and museums.

 

For those who love well-being, there are several wellness centers in the area that   ensure relaxation and treatments, up to the renowned spas of Sirmione.
